New Orleans Regional Planning Commission to Host Neighborhood Outreach Event The New Orleans Regional Planning Commission, in conjunction with the City of New Orleans, Volkert & Associates and Catholic Charity Archdiocese of New Orleans, is hosting an information session to offer technical assistance to citizens living in the VA footprint. The area is bounded by Canal Street, Tulane Avenue, S. Galvez and S. Rocheblave Streets. Real estate representatives from Volkert & Associates will answer questions one-on-one regarding the acquisition and relocation process, while representatives from Catholic Charities will address citizens' social services concerns in a confidential manner. Residents are being contacted via mail and by hand-delivered flyers to encourage maximum attendance. The event will be held on Saturday, June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the JOB1 building at 2330 Canal Street on the second floor. The purpose of the event is to ensure that citizens can continue to have their questions and concerns addressed in a one-on-one manner, so that they can make more informed decisions during this transition. For more information on the acquisition and relocation process, citizens should call Volkert & Associates at 1-800-340-1070 and ask for the "Real Estate Services' department. For social services information, citizens should call Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center at (504) 827-9963. For more information on the VA Hospital project, visit www.neworleans.va.gov.
